The Barum Rising Stars Showcase at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall is a special event presented by the Barum Music International Competition, created to showcase the exceptional artistry of its top winners. This concert highlights performers who have demonstrated outstanding musical excellence, while also helping to share the mission and values of Barum Music with a wider audience.
The Barum International Music Competition is held annually to inspire young musicians to pursue artistic excellence and develop meaningful performance goals. Participants from around the world compete in various instrumental categories, demonstrating their dedication, talent, and musical growth. All performances are evaluated by distinguished musicians and educators, ensuring a high standard of professionalism and artistry.
A signature highlight of the competition is the Barum Rising Stars Showcase in New York City. Top winners are invited to perform at the historic Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall—one of the world’s most prestigious and internationally recognized concert venues. This opportunity provides students with:
  • A world-class stage experience
  • Recognition for their hard work and musical achievement
  • An inspiring milestone that supports their ongoing artistic development
  • A memorable professional performance to include in résumés, school applications, and portfolios
Through both the international competition and the Barum Rising Stars Showcase, Barum Music aims to motivate young musicians, celebrate their achievements, and create transformative experiences that elevate their musical journeys.
Barum Music also has a longstanding commitment to supporting communities in need. The organization has donated educational supplies and digital pianos, and recently gifted a grand piano to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). These efforts reflect Barum’s dedication to uplifting both young musicians and the broader community through music.

One of Barum’s signature annual events is the Benefit Concert, where students learn to share the beauty of music while directly serving their communities. More than a performance, the benefit concert teaches students the value of giving back through effort, discipline, and artistic excellence. All proceeds are donated under the performers’ names to nonprofit organizations selected each year, giving every student a personal connection to the impact they create.
Barum students also bring music to hospitals and senior communities—including St. Jude Hospital and Los Angeles General Medical Center—sharing comfort, joy, and healing with patients and staff. In recognition of their artistic contribution and community service, students receive official awards from city and state offices, as well as the U.S. Presidential Volunteer Service Award, honoring their commitment as musicians and civic leaders.
Past donations have supported:
  • Dayle McIntosh Center
  • Children with Disabilities
  • School supplies for children in Mexico, Cambodia, and Paraguay
  • A Yamaha digital piano for El Cántaro Bioscuela Popular
  • A Yamaha 88-key keyboard for the Orquesta de Instrumentos Reciclados de Cateura
  • Rice donations for communities in Nicaragua
In collaboration with the RnH Foundation and CE Agencia
The Barum Music Foundation describes its mission as spreading “the right intentional music and energy” to communities. Its work goes beyond teaching instruments—especially piano—to helping young musicians grow through performing, teaching, and community engagement. Barum organizes benefit concerts, international and online competitions, and charitable outreach programs to support both musical excellence and personal development.
