Eligibility
- The third Barum International Piano Competition will take place online.
- It is open to pianists of all ages with a free choice of repertoire.
Rules
- The application deadline will be November 15, 2023.

If you have any further questions, email us at info@barummusic.org. - The age of the applicants will be determined by the application due date (November 15, 2023). Please attach the proof of age when you apply (birth certificate, driver's license, passport, etc.). The files will be deleted after age verification.
- Application fee per application is $75 for the competition. The application fee is non-refundable.
- To submit the video of the performance, an unlisted YouTube link will be required. Please check the box for “Not intended for Kids." Inaccessible video link will result in disqualification of the applicant.
- Performance must be recorded with one fixed camera angle, focused on the performer(s). Please make sure performers’ hands and faces are visible. No editing permitted. Performers should dress as they would for a live, in-person performance. Video recordings should be of recent performances (within two months prior to the application deadline).
- There are two divisions: Festival and Professional Levels. All Festival Level applicants will receive certificate of participation and comments. Professional Level division is designed for highly competitive students with many years of musical experiences.
Awards (for Professional level entries only)
- Barum Foundation Award: Each Division's Grand Prize winner will receive $250 in cash prize.
- RnH Foundation Award: Each Division's Excellent Performance Prize winner will receive $100 in cash prize.
- Yamaha-Hanmi Piano Award: Five performers from the entire competition will be selected for special prize of Yamaha P125 keyboard (retail value $700/each). All prize winners will also be eligible for a special scholarship at Hanmi Piano, Yamaha Authorized dealer. Details will be announced with the winners announcement.
- Amici International Music Festival Award: Four performers from the entire competition will be selected for special prize of $250 scholarship toward festival participation.
Repertoire
- Please choose your repertoire carefully BEFORE you submit your application. Once accepted, no repertoire changes will be allowed.
- Free selection of one piece is required.
- Piece must be performed/recorded by memory.
- All decisions by the jury will be final.
- 1st/2nd/3rd prizes will be awarded per category at judges' discretion.
- Special Awards will be given to selected winners.
